Photography Step 1: Learn to Ask

Having a full time day job does not allow me the time I need to practice using my camera as much as I would like. I try to work with the little free time I have & photograph things around my bedroom…. a.k.a. my shoe collection, because that’s all I have in there. No really, I have lived in this house for a year and a half and have yet to unpack anything other than my shoes and clothes. Now THAT is procrastination at its finest….

Luckily, I work for a fabulous company that closes down during the last week of December giving me the entire week off. Since photography school is just around the corner I figured this will be a good time to get out there, get all paparazzi and literally take picture of everything and everyone.

I would say that it is much more fun to learn something new with a group rather than working solo…. so I plan on recruiting the wonderful people around me to help a sista out :) There is just one tiny problem with that: I.AM.SCARED.TO.ASK.    Usually I don’t mind putting myself out there so I really don’t understand my scaredy-ness (yes, that is a made up word). Maybe it’s the fear of talking their ears off out of nervousness (another made up word?)  about how I am going to BRING IT during photoshoots….. and then end up being the worst photographer, Ever. In The Whole World.

At this point I can either A) Let my fear get the best of me, sell my camera on eBay and use the money to buy a new pair of shoes to drown my miseries away. Or I can B) Not be a guppy and just ask already, making sure to include cupcakes along with my pictures for better reviews.

I will go with the latter choice and ask for help.

So if anyone out there gets a text/email from me reminding you of how much I like you and of what a giving, HELPFUL person you are  (and what your favorite type of cupcake is) do not be surprised as to what my next question will be. Thank you in advance ;)
